Everything you need to get going — from logging your first session to setting up a full program for your squad.

Quick start

You can be up and running in under 5 minutes. Here's the fastest path:

  1. Sign up at performax.coach and choose your role (Coach or Athlete).
  2. If you're a coach, create your first Program from the dashboard.
  3. Add athletes by sending invite links — they'll join directly into your squad.
  4. Create your first event or session and assign it to athletes.
  5. Athletes log their sessions and you see the results in real time.
Note: Athletes on the free plan can only join one squad. Upgrade to a Club Plan to allow unlimited squad memberships.

Creating an account

PerformX uses magic links — no passwords to forget. Enter your email, click the link, and you're in.

Coach vs Athlete accounts

When you first sign up you'll choose your role. Coaches get access to the program builder, athlete management, and analytics. Athletes get the athlete portal, calendar, and session logger. You can't switch roles after sign-up — if you need both, create a second account.

Inviting athletes

From the Coach dashboard, navigate to Athletes → Invite. You'll get a shareable link or you can send invites directly by email. Athletes who click the link will be prompted to create an account (or log in) and will automatically join your squad.

Tip: Invite links expire after 7 days. You can generate a new one any time from the Athletes page.

Programs

A Program is a structured training plan — think of it as a container for all your events, competitions, and sessions over a given period.

Creating a program

Go to Programs → New Program. Give it a name, set the start and end dates, and add the athletes who are following this program.

Program phases

You can break a program into phases (e.g., Pre-season, In-season, Taper). Phases are optional but help when reviewing athlete load over time.

Events

Events are the individual items inside a program — training sessions, competitions, tests, or anything else on the calendar.

Priority levels

Each event has a priority: A (Major — season priority), B (Minor — key tune-up), or C (Low priority). Only one priority can be set per event.

Assigning events

Events are assigned to the program, and all athletes in that program see the event on their calendar. You can also assign events to specific athletes only.

Session logging (coach)

As a coach you can log sessions on behalf of athletes, or review sessions athletes have logged themselves. Go to Sessions → Log Session to add a session manually.

AI tools

PerformX includes AI-powered features to reduce your admin load:

  • Program suggestions — describe your athlete's goal and the AI drafts an initial program structure.
  • Load analysis — the AI flags when athlete load is trending toward overtraining based on session data.
  • Session notes — paste your raw coaching notes and the AI formats them into structured session records.
Note: AI features are available on the Club Plan. All AI-generated content is a suggestion only — you review and approve before it's saved.

Your athlete profile

Your profile stores your personal details, sport, and coach connection. Keep it up to date — your coach uses this info to personalise your program. You can update your profile at any time from the My Profile page.

Calendar

Your calendar shows all upcoming events, competitions, and sessions assigned to you. You can also add your own sessions, events, and notes directly to the calendar from the My Calendar page.

Adding to your calendar

Use the + Add button to log a session, add a competition, or write a note. Notes are private by default and only visible to you unless you choose to share them with your coach.

Logging sessions

After a training session, go to My Calendar → Log Session. Fill in the session type, duration, RPE (rating of perceived exertion), and any notes. Your coach can see your logged sessions in real time.

Tip: Log sessions as soon as possible after training — your RPE score is most accurate when the session is fresh.

Plans

PerformX offers two plan tiers:

  • Free — For individual coaches managing a small squad. Includes core session logging, program builder, and athlete portal.
  • Club Plan — For clubs, academies, and high-performance programs. Adds AI tools, unlimited athletes, advanced analytics, and priority support.
